Hurry! ASUS Lamborghini speed Up Data storage

ASUS Lamborghini
Asus yield new hard drive emanates with stylishness named Asus Lamborghini. Asus Lamborghini has fashionable, graceful design inspired by the unique look of Lamborghini supercars. Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is hard to buy so as launches this Asus Lamborghini ? (hmm………. joking).

This is hard to see a slow speed hard drive inside this so as named its feature is speedup by using USB 3.0 instead of USB 2.0 that means the data transfer rate is upgrade from Hi-speed(480Mbps) to Supper speed(10x480Mbps) (that means from Maruti to Lamborghini).

This is efficient and stylish to use as device offers one click auto backup function that saves and protects valuable data so no need to take tension for important data. Enabled plug-n-play function so just attached and take data so no need to take lots of pen drive and Compatible with Windows7,vista,xp.

Available in 2 sporty colours and in 500gb and 700gb storage space. This all you get by just paying 120$ (approx. 5,500 Rs)for USB2.0 and for USB3.0 not decided.

World's Only 6GB/s 72000rpm 2TB hard-drive: Seagate

The world's only and first 6GB/s 72000rpm 2TB hard-drive is going to launch today by Seagate. Hard-drive consist of a four platter design sporting 500GB each! and each will rotate at 7200rpm.

Company is going to include a new 64MB cache scheme and transfer rate can touch about ~135 to 145 MB/s. This revlonary drive is available at an estimated price of $299, which come with an five year warrenty. And will be availabe at the end of this week in retail stores.

The older SATA 1.5 or 3 GB/s inerface can be embed and fully supported with auto-conifure by the new SATA 6G interface.

Seagate is also launching a new verison of SeaTools software which will allow user to short stroke their drives so that they can increase its performance.

Intel's 160 GB SSD For PCs Out In Market

Intel started shipping a 160 GB, 2.5-inch solid-state drive for laptops and desktops, called as X25-M.

Intel also said that they are also going to launch a 160 GB, 1.8 inch SSD name X18-M, in next month. The chipmaker already shipped 80 GB versions of the two drives in September.
SSD is offered by computer manufactures which will used in ultralight laptops and mini-notebooks, basically used for e-mails ad web browsing. Here SSD's are very useful since they are much lighter and use less power than current hard-disk drives. Major computer maker like Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Lenovo offer SSD's in notebooks.

Both X18-M and X25-M are based on Intel's multilevel cell memory. The technology that differentiates the SSDs from others is used of 10x NAND flash channels and "native command queuing" that enables up to 32 concurrent operations for faster performance, according to Intel.
Drivers reading speed of 250 Mbps and writing speed of 70 Mbps, both drivers are available with SATA interface of 1.5 Gbps and 3 Gbps.

Though pricing was not released but Intel says, life expectancy of drivers are about 1.2 million hours of mean time before failure, and power consumption is pretty impressive which is 150 milliwatts during a typical PC workload and 0.06 of watt when idle.

Beside two drives, Intel also makes the X25-E Extreme SSD for servers, storage and high-end workstations. The SATA drive is availability in capacities of 32 GB and 64 GB, and has a life expectancy of 2 million hours of MTBF.

Numonyx's Flash Memory Devies- All Set To Go

Numonyx, a joint venture of Intel and STMicroelectronics, introduced a lineup of NAND flash memory devices on Thursday for consumer electronics, ranging from digital cameras and MP3 players to mobile phones and USB drives.

Numonyx using its 41-nanometer process to manufacture its new products, including 16 and 32 GB multilevel cell NAND chips for use in solid-state drivers, USB drives, and memory cards, an embedded MultiMedia card and a microSD memory card.

MicroMediaCard and microSD cards are used in widely in consumer electronic devices. Currently Numonyx is aiming its MMC at mobile phones. personal global positioning system, and also in set-top boxes. And on other hand company's microSD is aiming at mobile phones, digital still cameras and camcorders, and MP3 players. A microSD is the smallest memory card available commercially and is typically used for added storage.

MMC comes in capacities from 2GB to 32GB, and the microSD from 2GB to 8G. The lineup is available for devices manufacturers, with the exception of the 32GB embedded MMC. Samples are scheduled to be in January.

Intel and STMicroelectronics was officially launched Numonyx in March this year. The multibillion-dollar company, which is expected to generate some $3.6 billion in annual revenue, engaged the tech companions money-losing businesses for flash memory devices.

The NAND flash memory market has been hit hard because of an flood that has grown worse in the economic downturn. One of the main reason of slump of the semi--conductor industry is because of dejection of market which  still one of the big problem for companies.

The industry as a whole is expected to suffer a second year of revenue decline in 2009, marking the first time chipmakers have seen sales drop in back-to-back years, according to Gartner. Revenue next year is expected to total just $219.2 billion, a 16.3% drop from this year, which is forecast to suffer a 4.4% drop from 2007 to $261.9 billion.

Though, there are some big competitors of Numonyx including Samsung Electronics, Toshiba and Texas Instruments.
